Kingsway Avenue Project Receives HUB Bike Award

We are thrilled to share the Kingsway Avenue upgrades project in the City of Port Coquitlam was the recipient of the 2026 Infrastructure Improvement Award at the 13th Annual HUB Bike Awards.
The project encompasses three phases of 2.8km road improvements with the first and second phases already constructed. Phase 1 introduced a new multi-use pathway with street lighting paralleling the north side of Kingsway Avenue, while Phase 2 included new sidewalks and street lighting on the south side of the corridor. Phase 3 is tentatively scheduled to commence construction in spring/summer 2026, with major works at the intersections of Kingsway Avenue and McLean Avenue and Broadway Street.
Kingsway Avenue is an arterial roadway of significant importance to the City of Port Coquitlam and the surrounding region. The Kingsway Avenue corridor also provides residents and visitors the ability to access and explore the heart of Port Coquitlam through the east-west bike route that connects the Port Coquitlam Community Centre with the scenic Traboulay PoCo Trail adjacent to Pitt River.
Our Public Works team was happy to support the City of Port Coquitlam by providing detailed design services for upgrades to traffic flow, accessibility, and improved safety.
Congratulations for making biking better in the City of Port Coquitlam.
