Implementing the new Neighbourhood Concept Plan for the area, Aplin & Martin Consultants Ltd. was retained by an experienced residential developer to provide detailed civil engineering design services for an approximately 100 unit luxury townhouse project in South Surrey. Set in a natural area with a preserved watercourse running through the site, the project offers high quality amenities and sustainable features.
The project included relocation of Wills Brook, a red-coded watercourse, construction of a landscaped berm for aesthetic and noise attenuation purposes, communal storm pump stations, individual sanitary pumps for some units and dedicated an enormous amount of land as riparian corridor. This project utilized cutting-edge Low Impact Development strategies such as disconnected roof leaders, extensive infiltration trenches, drainage drywells, all with the target of replicating the pre-development hydrology of this site which serves as the headwaters to Wills Brook.
