Aplin Martin provided detailed design of storm, water and sanitary servicing, stormwater detention, sustainable drainage and lot grading for the RCMP’s E Division Headquarters. This initiative relocated and consolidated existing RCMP headquarters units throughout Metro Vancouver to a new 76,000 square metre site, valued at $263 million for design and construction.
The project was a public-private partnership (P3) between the Government of Canada and Green Timbers Accommodation Partners and represents the first federal public-private partnership in more than a decade and the largest federal accommodations project in the Pacific Region to date. The P3 approach provided opportunity for Aplin Martin to propose innovative designs and implement construction and maintenance techniques that ensures the facility meets Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
