Aplin Martin were retained by the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to be part of their consultant team to provide civil engineering services for the new Temple site located on 204 Street and 82 Avenue in Langley, BC. The development of this key place of worship for the Latter Day Saints community included a Temple, Meeting House and President’s Residences.
Aplin Martin worked closely with the project team to provide the civil designs necessary to compliment the intricate and detailed park like setting of the Temple site while maintaining the extremely high standards and specifications typical of a LDS Temple Site. The large site involved extensive landscaping and grading to create the holy and tranquil park like setting while seamlessly incorporating technical features like storm water management ponds. Of the limited number of LDS temple sites located around the world, Aplin Martin have been successfully involved in 2 sites, located in Langley, BC and Calgary, AB.
