Aplin Martin was retained by Trasolini Chetner to provide civil engineering consulting services for the subdivision and re-development of a 35-unit lakeside resort in West Kelowna. Re-development of the property included removal of all the existing cabins to make way for the 35 single-family homes and community amenities. The scope of work was to provide preliminary and detailed design, tender services, contract administration and inspection.
Our onsite and offsite servicing and grading design included a new sanitary lift station and force main. The onsite roadway design and lot grading included earthworks balancing, while providing a funtional interface with the waterfront with the installation of a public walkway along the beach. Impacts on Okanagan Lake were minimized with the implementation of a stormwater collection/infiltration system. Offsite upgrades included widening of the West Bay Road corridor, including a new public park with parking and lake acess. Coordination with the District of West Kelowna allowed for a custom roadway section suited to the site specific conditions, allowing for substantial cost savings through offsite roadway improvements.
