High Point Equestrian Estates
Aplin Martin prepared the Stormwater Management Report in support of the proposed High Point development. 250 acres of land tributary to sensitive fish bearing streams, wetlands, habitats and watercourses were protected. XP-SWMM modelling, supported by other computer modelling was used to analyze water distribution and sanitary collection systems. The stormwater management infrastructure was designed to create a sustainable and low-impact development incorporating a variety of Best Management Practices.
Other engineering services included 6km of roadways with innovative infiltration trenches and biofiltration swales; 21km of sanitary sewers with pump station and directional-drilled river crossing; 13.5 km of watermain with two booster stations and a new reservoir; 14,000 m3 of stormwater detention ponds with lot-level infiltration systems to ensure the site hydrology mimics pre-development conditions; $300,000 in erosion and sediment control; and various water quality initiatives to ensure as minimal impact as possible to the surrounding ecologically sensitive landscape.
