Current Projects

Lions Gate Peripheral Area, North Vancouver, BC

Master Planning for storm, sanitary, water and road upgrades in the area west of Capilano Road and north of Marine Drive in North Vancouver. This area is undergoing a rapid increase in density, Aplin Martin is undertaking an analysis of existing and proposed systems, to ensure the District of North Vancouver’s utility systems can handle new developments.

29th Avenue Transit Exchange, Vancouver, BC

Aplin Martin was retained by Translink to provide modifications to the existing bus loop, complete with new curb, new concrete road surface, provision of 4 new bus shelters, relocation of trolley pole and wiring, new streetlights, and landscaping features.

Brighouse Skytrain Station Bus Mall, Richmond, BC

Design of road and services for new bus loop, complete with concrete road surface, decorative streetlights, and bus shelter. Extensive landscaping is required, complete with specialized hard surfaces, street trees, structural soil, benches, garbage containers, way-finding signage, decorative fences and a sound wall. A new left turn lane complete, with a new traffic signal, will also be designed.

46th Avenue Storm Main Extension, Salmon Arm, BC

Retained by the City of Salmon Arm to provide design and construction services for road improvements and storm drainage improvements along the 46th Avenue industrial corridor in Salmon Arm.

This project will include the addition of curb and gutter, catch basins, ditch regrading, headwalls and road widening at key sections, to fit within the City’s budget, as well as tendering services, bid evaluation, construction inspection, onsite management.

Aldergrove Recreation Centre Offsite Design Services, Township of Langley, Langley, BC

The Township has retained Aplin Martin to undertake to the offsite engineering design services for the recently announced Aldergrove Recreation Centre. The design service include upgrading the frontage roads and utilities to service this state of the art facility, which includes an outdoor aquatic facility, 550 seat arena, fitness centre, and indoor walking track.

47 Avenue Collector Road Rehabilitation, Corporation of Delta, Delta, BC

The Corporation of Delta has retained Aplin Martin to undertake the design for the rehabilitation of 47th avenue from Garry Street to 51st Street. The project will also include the widening of 47 Avenue to include curb, bike lanes, as well as various utility replacement and extension. Aplin Martin will coordinate closely with the nearby REACH facility to facilitate a suitable design for their parking lot expansion.

86 Avenue Collector Road Widening, Corporation of Delta, Delta, BC

The Corporation of Delta has retained Aplin Martin to undertake design for the widening of 86 Avenue from 116 Street to 120 Street . The project will include new curb, rain garden within the proposed boulevard, bike lanes, as well as various utility replacement and extension. The objective of this project is to enhance pedestrian experience, while promoting multi-modal transportation.

128 Street Arterial Road Widening, City of Surrey, Surrey, BC

City of Surrey has retained Aplin Martin to undertake design for the widening of 128th Street from 68 Avenue to 64 Avenue, as the last section of 128 Street still to be widened south from 90 Avenue. The project will include new curb, boulevard, median, and bike lanes. The widened roadway will greatly improve north-south vehicular movement along 128 Street.

Wood Street Drainage Pump Station, New Westminster, BC

Design of a new drainage pump station servicing the Queensborough neighbourhood, in order to update the current system to sustain the capacity of the growing neighbourhood.

64 Avenue Arterial Widening, Surrey, BC

Design of road improvements and culvert replacement from Fraser Highway to 196 Street, to facilitate the greater volume of road usage in both directions on 64th Avenue.

2015 Sanitary Sewer Relief, Surrey, BC

Construction administration of new sanitary sewers at eight sites throughout the city. Construction Spring 2016

Victoria Drive Road Widening, Coquitlam, BC

Design of road widening on Victoria Drive from Coast Meridian Road to Burke Mountain Street, to serve growing community of Coquitlam, BC.

2016 Watermain Asset Renewal Program, Abbotsford, BC

Aplin Martin was retained to design the replacement of aging and undersized watermains at nineteen sites throughout the city, to facilitate the growing population and subdivision community of Abbotsford.

2015 Combined Sewer Separation Project, Package V, Burnaby, BC

Design and construction administration for proposed storm and sanitary sewers, for the abandonment of existing combined sewers.

Interim Landsowne Road Extension, City of Richmond, construction Spring 2016

Construction administration for interim road improvements, to sustain growing populations in conjunction with surrounding residential and commercial developments.

Minoru Aquatic Centre / Seniors Centre, Richmond, BC

Civil engineering design services for a new combined aquatic centre and senior’s centre. The sustainable civil designs incorporate a design of a cistern, to store and recycle pool drainage for re-use in sustainable irrigation. Detailed site grading and servicing infrastructure upgrades have also been incorporated into the project.

Richmond Firehall No. 1 Replacement, Richmond, BC

Civil engineering services design for new state of the art firehall and post disaster facility. The project also includes a significant water and storm water drainage design, to accommodate the inclusion of a training facility on this site.
